I have some additional
information on Bartholome DE CARDENAS and Catarina Morillo's family if you
would like to see it. I am not related to this family, as far as I
know, but I have been holding on to this information because my 6th
great-grand father was Bartholome De Cardenas married to Barbara Gutierres
during this same time period in Colotlan. I can't imagine there
being two Bartholome De Cardenas, so I thought perhaps they were the same
person and he was a widower who remarried. I haven't been able to
prove this theroy since I can't find either Bartolome's marriage
information. So it is another item on my list of things to
do/find/verify, etc.
Just in case...here is my Cardenas info, let me
know if you recognize any names.
++ Bartholome DE CARDENAS. He
married Barbara GUTIERRES.
Their Children were as follows: i
Catharina DE CARDENAS. She married on 19 Jan 1722 in San Luis, Colotlan,
Jalisco, Mexico Juan Mathias DE GAETA.
ii Maria Antonia DE CARDENAS.
She married on 29 Jan 1732 in San Luis, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico Nicolas
GODINA, son of Nicolas GODINA and Maria Ana DE LAMAS.
iii Francisco
DE CARDENAS. He married on 24 May 1734 in Tlaltenango De Sanchez Roman,
Zacatecas, Mexico Juliana MUNOS LOPEZ, christened 25 Mar 1720 in
Tlaltenango De Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas, Mexico, daughter of Joseph MUNOS
and Melchora de los Reies LOPEZ BRAVO.
iv Maria Rosa DE CARDENAS. She
married on 6 Oct 1735 in San Luis, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico Miguel
FERNANDEZ, son of Nicolas FERNANDEZ and Josepha TOSTADO.
v Juan
Mathias DE CARDENAS. He married on 12 Jun 1740 in San Luis, Colotlan,
Jalisco, Mexico Luiza Theresa MARQUES DE LOS OLIBOS, daughter of Francisco
MARQUES DE LOS OLIBOS and Theresa RAMIREZ DE LA ROSA.
vi Christobal
de los Santos DE CARDENAS. He married on 12 Jun 1740 in San Luis,
Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico Antonia Petronila MARQUES RAMIREZ, christened 12
Jul 1719 in San Luis, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico, daughter of Francisco
MARQUES DE LOS OLIBOS and Theresa RAMIREZ DE LA ROSA.
The last two
children, are brothers that married sisters in a double wedding
cermony.
Good luck on your search, Angie Godina

Although I can't find Maria Manuela's record of birth there, I have a
record for her brother and sister: Joseph Alvino Ramos, born 03/12/1759
and Maria Martina Ramos, born 11/14/1756. > I also have a
record for Jose Leonisio's sister, Maria Guadalupe Hernandes, born

mentioned, is there many, or only one "Tuxpan". My mother-in-law,
who's maiden name is Padilla, says that her great-grandfather was from
here, and she mentioned him being some sort "alcalde" or mayor and that t
here was a statue of him...was there some sort of statue in Tuxpan of a
man who's last name would be Padilla? Or is that another
Tuxpan? I really haven't researched my husbands family yet, but I
enjoy talking with my mother- in-law, who is 79, in the hopes of starting
my husbands tree. > > Peggy
