My result was no surprise but a confirmation of what I already knew by
word of mouth, particularly from my late grandmother. You can now
find my folder in the files section. Unfortunately, my maternal
(mtDNA) branch goes back only to my g2-grandmother: my mother is
Villagrana, her mother Martel, her mother Colunga, and then Alvarado.
I just haven't been able to break thru that wall. I suspect that she
has roots in neighboring Nayarit and church records from Nayarit
haven't yet been extracted to the IGI.
Your comments about your mother's eyes and skin are very interesting,
which only shows that physical traits are not necessarily correlated
to DNA haplogroups.
