name variations

Many of the name variations were due to the priest's entries.  I have 
read somewhere that French priests made many of the "mistakes" .

Maese, Maes  [ Some of the Maese families which stayed in the El 
Paso area after the Request keep the old spelling of Maes--accent 
on the letter e]
