JosephPuente's Research Surnames and Areas

thanks all for the great response to my encouragement to introduce yourselves. I have a suggestion. Just like Maria did below why don't we all post again and do it only in this format

My name is: Joseph Puentes

I'm doing research on these Surnames: Joseph Puentes de Diaz, Aguallo, Ledesma, Casas, Alvarez, Varela, Gonsalez, Sanchez, Leaños, Marquez, Torres, Santa Maria, Lugo, Espinosa, Romero, Banuelos,
Miranda, Muro, Nava, Castañeda y Rivas. (thanks Maria for the ñ)

I'm researching these areas--- Jalisco: Colotlan, Santa Maria de Los Angeles, Rancho de Animas, Salto de Los Romeros, Sauz de Los Marquez, Ojo de Agua, Sotoles, Huejucar and a few other Ranchos in the Colotlan jurisdicion (if that is the right word for it). Zacatecas: Sombrerete, Rancho de Los Negros in the Villanueba district, Coculiten, Momax, Tlaltenango, Tepechitlan, and Tepetongo.

I guess I really need to clarify what I mean. I have relatives that come from or I believe come from these areas. I've actaully researched some and am moving toward the research of the other. With thoroughness being a strict requirement it might take me years to get to some of these but you never know. I mentioned them all just in case some of you all might be working in these areas.

=================

Also in the Near Future I'm going to post all the films I currently have on permanent reserve at my local Family History Center.

This brings up something I've been thinking about. . .time. Most of us lead busy lives that just don't allow as much free time for genealogy. Therefore we need to be willing to help each other but also be aware that we might not have a lot of time to be doing in depth research for each other. I'm going to list my films so that if you all have some general questions about what to expect from a film I might have I can tell you or try to tell you about them. Also I really love helping people and would do some quick look ups if given the exact date and location. And depending on whatever help is needed I'm might be presuaded to be cooperative. . .heck i'm addicted 8^)

Well i just got home from work and its 2:30 am and i have a few more emails to check and i'm off to bed.

Joseph

ps: anybody here know Mrs. Shirmacher the woman of Mexico Expertise at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City?

Hi all,

My name is Maria Cortez, I live in a suburb of Sacramento, CA. I've been doing research for about 3 years now. I think I've had contact with some of you in the past.

I am not related to Rich Cortez. Cortez is my married name, and I haven't done any research on that surname. Some of the surnames I'm researching are: Sánchez, Díaz, Soto (Sotomayor), Mora (de la Mora), Delgadillo, Abundis(Agundis/Agundes), Castañeda, Ruíz, and more. The towns and ranchos I'm interested in are: Ixtlahuacán del Río, San Nicolás de los Abundis, Cuquío, Yahualica, and a few others.

I'm also a cousin of Steven Hernandez and I've contact with him in the past. He is a wealth of information in the Los Altos region.

Regards,

Maria
