Question: Mexican army records from Zacatecas

Hello all,

Let me know if you can help. I recently learned that
my great-great grandfather served in the Mexican
cavalry in Zacatecas, perhaps around Tlaltenango,
although there might be some connection to Torreon,
Coahuila as well.

His name was Pedro Pineda, and he was probably born
between 1844 and 1864, as his son, my
great-grandfather Nicanor Pineda was born in 1884. Any
help would be appreciated...as of now, I don't really
know anything more about him, aside from the fact that
he had a wife named Pioquinta ____dosa. Also, does any
one know if there were any military engagements in
Zacatecas around this time that involved the cavalry?
