Thank you for your reply, my real curiosity was about the Sanches de
la Mejorada line that was the first wife of my Ancestor Jose
Francisco Mendez who married her in 1795 in Zapotlan El Grand/Ciudad
Gusman. In that town all the people I asked about including Espanol
Gonzales and Leal's are living and marrying into the same lines as
my direct ancestor did. They say they are from Leon and also many
people coming directly from Spain in this time period.. I didn't
mean to do their genealogy but you know how it is.. we start with
one family and end up doing the city or rancho! These same people
also live in Tuxpan, Atoyac, and Tamazula de Gordiano, they seem to
come around Lake Chapala. I got to go there a couple of years ago
and the area is still in sugar cane and making tequila is a
maintstay. If you'd like any of the records let me know, always glad
to share my findings..
