Alicia,

Yes there was some signifiance in that name.  December 1931 was the 
400 year anniversary to the Virgin de Guadalupe.  So I imagine all 
the children in the early part of 1932 were given that name.  Funny 
you should bring this up since about a week ago, I was talking with 
my uncle who was born in 1931 and has the name Guadalupe.  
Anyway...someone else started talking to us and he asked my uncle 
were you born in the year of the Guadalupe's.  My uncle laughed and 
said he was born before.  Later when the man left, I asked my uncle 
what was that all about.  He explained to me that most of the 
children born in 1932 were given the name of Guadalupe in honor of 
the Virgin de Guadalupe.
