Re: Member's Profiles

I volunteer to set up the site with the interactive family tree
software I have on my site currently and to include a bulletin board
system that we can use similar to this list.

We would need to either get small donations to cover a cost of about
$150 a year for hosting or try to make that money back through
advertising on the site... We can get Google ads on the site and as
long as people click through on the ads enough, we will probably be
able to make back the cost (depending on how many users there are and
how often people go on the site).

My cost estimate is for a hosting package that would give us 3GB of
storage. People could upload files in addition to their GEDCOMs.
All of the family information would be searchable by name, place,
etc. and could be searchable on a tree-specific basis or the entire
database could be searched at once. Of course these functions would
only be available for registered members. How many are there?
