Linda,
I couldn't help notice the name of Leonardo de la Torre
Berumen from Jerez. Rich and I are researching Berumes (s instead of n)
from Jeres, Zac.
Bernardo BERUMES and Maria Marsela
ORTIS
One of the children Joseph Francisco Xavier
BERUMES was born 18 Dec 1757 in Jeres,
Zac.
followed by two children Joseph Melchor BERUMES de
Vera b. 7 Jan 1765 and Lorenzo de la Trinidad BERUMES b. 5 Aug 1760 both born in
Tepetongo, Zac.
Another son, our ancestor, Santiago BERUMES m. Maria
Josefa SALAZAR, but we don't have birthdate or birthplace for
Santiago.
My question is in the mid-1700s could BERUMES
and BERUMEN be the same? I am aware of S and Z interchanging, but not
aware of S and N interchanging.
I think I will go look for a Santiago Berumen. I'll also
take a closer look at our documents of the siblings.
I would have copied Leonardo de la Torre Berumen in on this
e-mail, but I noticed he doesn't read English and my Spanish is nil.
