Joseph, In one of my e-mails to the group, I specifically said that I didn't know what the members of the Ranchos Group or the Jerezano Group at MSN were talking about when they mentioned this Rancho or that. To me a "rancho" is a working ranch with livestock. I asked if these "Ranchos" had been former Haciendas belonging to one land-owner where a village had sprung up, sort of like the Company Towns in New Mexico and Arizona owned by mining companies. What are they exactly, in Mexico? What would the English equivelent of a rancho be????
I think of it as a small, small community as in a large neighborhood.
what are others thoughts on this?
thanks,
joseph
