Teach and yee Shall be Taught-PhoneCards: Was-Robles

Glad you said that.

We are approaching 100 in membership.

If everyone one of us Taught one small lesson we'd be overflowing with different ideas how to proceed with our genealogy. Yes I know that its possible for some to say that they "know it all" but I think most will not fit themselves into that catagory. So get down to the basics and send in some kind of lesson dealing with genealogy.

I'll go first:

1) go to a store that sells phone cards and get an international $5.00 one good for Mexico

2) get a Mexican phone book for your particular area of research.

3) call every person in the book with your last name

4) find a new relative

later if you like I'll give ideas what to say, but each person should develope that with which they are comfortable

NEXT!

joseph

ps: see it doesn't have to be rocket science that you need to send in.

Gee, thanks for the glowing tribute, Helyn,

That is what genealogy is all about, I think, helping others, the old "give and thou shalt receive". Many people have helped me also down through the years, and it has kept me going.  I don't understand those that horde their information like misers.  We will get more done if we all share, no?

I hereby give Emilie, from Port Orchard, WA....Mil Gracias.

For many years, I have not been able to break the "code", and find a link to my maternal grandfather. Just recently, I posted the little information that I had, and received a lead from Emilie. Today, I received the film, and found a sister to my grandfather. (I did not know of her)

Maria Robles from El Refugio - born June 1884 - parents - Antonio Robles born (b abt 1759) &  Martina Carlos de Godoi -        paternal grandparents Antonio Robles (b abt 1739) & Luciana Sanches  (?)     Maternal grandparents Domingo Carlos de Godi (b abt 1739)  & ! Maria Refugio M? (when I go to the FHC next week, I will get the corre ct spelling)

Prior to joining the group, I had communicated with Emilie, who would share her vast knowledge, and was instrumental in finding some ancestors for me.

Emilie, you are wonderful....Gracias, y abrazos....Helyn de Castaneda
