I agree. While most of the emails, (ok, all of
them) don’t really pertain to me, I like to read when someone discovers a
relative. It prompted me to ask if
anyone had ties to my lines. No
one did, but I got REALLY good information from Angie and Joseph (thanks
again!). Hearing different ideas
on where to look is really helpful and beneficial to all of us.
……I also
just really like reading other peoples email. Hahahahaha. If
people have a problem with these, just do what Joseph has suggested and change
your profile to “Digest”.

Hi! I
am hanging in there too.........(Irma Gomez Lucero: I also have SOTO which I
have done almost nothing on! :-) We will be in touch,
ok?) I truly appreciate the e-mails.......ALL OF THEM.......if they do
not pertain to my lineages..... I simply delete them and look forward to
the next ones! I have learned so much just from reading all the e-mail
that different people send in..........PLEASE do not take these into private
e-mails.......Thanks!

Mis cinco centavos:
Although I haven't made connections, (I have Alvarez, Soto & Mota),
I appreciate hearing about these lines. Hopefully, I will eventually
make a connection as I hear more. Maria making a connection is a
perfect example. Please don't taken these into private emails.

this is open for
discussion:
The idea was brought up about suggesting that specific discussion about
particular details of genealogy ties be taken to private email after the inital
flow of communication since it would not be revelent to most members of the
group. Hmmm . . .
Well first off it seems to me that in the recent upsurge of discussion
"provoked" by Carol Lester (con carino) Maria Cortez might have been
"forgotten" for possibly awhile if that thread had been quickly taken
to private email. I really don't like putting a rule on this kind of thing. As
long as its on topic I say let it all be said. Maybe we can just kind of internally
consider when discussion about a particular connection between members has been
sufficiently
"advertised" so that all have had a fair chance at getting the
message. On a volunteer basis we can then just let these threads fade into
private email that is until some part of it needs to be brought back to the
group like an addition to the genealogy line or making a connection with other
group members or making an association with one surname from one area to the
same surname in another area within our target area***.
[***This would be a good database for someone to work on for the
"files" area. Something like a list of surnames that are well
represented in the different locations in our target area].
Que Piensan? Wha'd yall think?

ps: I can't emphasis enough that setting your membership option to
"Digest" is a very nice option to use for controlling the clutter [if
you can call any message from the Ranchos group clutter] in your inbox.
