well its not anything as straighforward as that. . .it all depends if this couple or one of the individuals left behind papers for someone to save and whether they were important enough for someone to value and go to the effort of preserving them.

If you have a strong reason to believe that this couple did leave behind papers and you just need to find them this is what I would do.

1) narrow it down geographically where in Zacatecas they lived.

2) contact the libraries closest to your families location.

3) move outward from there searching and asking library by libary if papers were saved on local individuals and families.

4) ask the history department of the closest College or University if books were written on this particular location. Also ask if they know of any archives that might be holding personal papers. . .and if these archives are public or private.

5) basically ask ask ask.
