I'm looking for a book from Miguel Alba titled "Una seccion de los
Alba de los Altos de Jalisco" it was supposed to have been published
in Mexico,D.F. in 1981. If anyone has any suggestions how I might
find it, I would appreciate it.
I think I have heard of that book.  Or then again, I may have not.  Sounds rather interesting.  I'll look into it.

My paternal grandparents are from Encarnacion de Diaz,Jalisco. Some
of the surnames involved are:
Alba,Gonzalez,Villasenor,Verdin,Romo,Moreno,Lomelin,Ortega,Guerra,Mart
in,Estrada,Bocanegra,Sotomayor,Arenas,Retamosa.
These names sound like very typical Aguascalientes and northern Los Altos.  These names are very prevalent in Aguascalientes, Teocaltiche, Encarnacion, Lagos de Moreno, Nochistlan (somewhat), and Ojuelos and Pinos to a lesser extent.  I have Alba, Romo, Moreno, Lomelin, Martin (Martin del Campo), Estrada, and Retamosa (which was originally Macias Valadez a very very very long time ago).

In the Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research (SHHAR)'s latest Genealogical Journal, Volume 5, which I edited, I wrote a historical and genealogical article on Pedro Moreno, a distant cousin of mine, who also shares even more of these surnames, such as Romo, Verdin (which is originally Italian, just like Lomelin), and of course Moreno.

I look forward to seeing how much research you have done and what info you have.

Sincerely,
