I don't have an exact answer to your question, but I think the reason 
is that familysearch.com is sometimes incomplete.

This has happened to be on serveral occassions where I have a record 
but it doesn't list a source batch no. or film no.  But then I look 
at it a couple of months later and it has a source.  Or it has a 
source and I print it out and then a couple of months later I look at 
it again and it is slightly different.  So I print that version out 
too.

Also, sometimes there is a differences between IGI and VRI.  That 
same record looks slighty different in VRI.  Here it is:
