My name is Jose Alfredo De La Torre Romo, yes I am related to the saint Toribio Romo martir from both my father and mother my father grandfather is from the town of Santa Ana my mothers side is from Jalostotitlan both are in the municipality of Jalostotitlan in the state of Jalisco. There were 2 main families in the town of Santa Ana the De La Torre's and the Romo's and they intermarried.
       As for the remarks made by you there was very little intermarriage with the natives and the spanish in the municipality of Jalostotitlan. My aunt (my mothers sister) married my uncle there was an old lady (the town's gossip) said that she had seen everything a rose growing in the swamp. You see my aunt a Romo Padilla was wed to a De Anda ( who happenned to be a meztizo) as that the Romo Padillas are white Spanish. So your remark about the seperation of the different ethnicities is true. I myself am 6' 3" tall and I have dark hair and Brown eyes yet I have cousins who are blond haired and blue eyes. my face is considered spanish or white.
