Hi Maria,
Thank you for your interest.
I have a letter written by my mother in 1941-42 on La Sultana
letterhead. She and my dad, Ramon Romero, spent several months with
my dad's relatives in and around Guadalajara after their marriage in
Oct., 1941 and returning to the USA before May, 1942. They mainly
stayed on one or another of Adolfo's ranches. I've been told the
family (de la Torre) owned this chocolateria (or chocolate factory as
my mother called it). My mother wrote to her aunt in Minnesota on
this letterhead.
I am searching any clues I can find to reconnect me with my father's
family. It seems easier to find the dead that any living relatives.
I am hoping to trace the ownership of the chocolateria to someone
living who may remember my dad and have family information for me.
My Spanish is slim to none so my research is slow. I would
appreciate any information your family may have on this place or my
family. My pedigree is posted to ranchos. If you need any more
information, please let me know. Thank you for your offer to help.
