okay this person has asked for my help but I was wondering if anyone
here had any thoughts. I'm wondering if there is the equivilent to the
American Medical Assoc. in Mexico? If so do you think they would keep
records or the information of doctors that have retired? If any of you
like puzzles to unravel what other advise can you give to Ms. Kim in
her search for her father?
thanks,
joseph
ps: Note to Kim: have you sent an email to the Aguilar group at
Rootsweb?

Also what kind of other clubs and associations do doctors join? Try
them all. Also are there any "non-medical" type of clubs or
associations that the doctors from Holyoke/Springfield frequented? Also
have you contacted the Holyoke/Springfiled Family History Center AND
any Historical Societies or Medical Societies? How about the H/S
libraries? Call and speak to find out who the local historians are and
then call them and quiz them? Find out if there are any Medical Schools
in the area and then call the Med School Libraries and find out who the
Medical Historians are and quiz them. At the regular libraries quiz the
reference desk people. . .and don't be satisfied until you have quizzed
each of the individual reference desk people. . .sometimes one will
know more than the others. . .start of by asking for how many other
reference desk people work at the library. . .if you phrase it
correctly you won't offend them. As a Doctor he had to use the Medical
Library of the hospital or local school. What was his specialty. .
.check to see if he was board certified. . .what kind of accreditation
did he need. Ask if the Holyoke hospital might have had a special
relationship with a certain Medical school in Mexico or if they were
pulling from all of Mexico or what is the history of how doctors from
MX came to work in Holyoke?
what kind of hobbies did your mom have? Maybe before you were born your
father took your mom to be engaged in some of these hobbies. Ask around
at the clubs or associations or functions they might have enjoyed
together.
What does your birth certificate say?
give us more information.

hi joseph, Yes I have tried the ama and a couple of other doctor
things, Yes I contactes Holyoke Hospital and they told me that the
doctors at that time, did their cinicals and were paid by Mexico. I
don't know how to get that info.. The card I have was postmarked
Springfield Mass, that's the town next to Holyoke..I sent out about 350
letters to all The DR and regular Aguilars I could find born around
that time..I have tried many of the locator sights on the internet,
phone directories etc..I just don't know his first name, and that's
what makes it really hard..I did find my birth mothers family and they
do not know his first name. I guess it was taboo then in their
home...any way please HELP Thank you, Kim

Re: help
it would help if you gave me complete information.
what was his name
did you already check with the agency that licenses physicians
did you check with Holyoke Hospital to get his info?
in his card in 1998 what was the city in the Post Mark? Was it US or
Mexico?
Did you already do a "Reference USA" search on him assuming you know
his complete name?
what have you tried so far to find him?
if you are serious about locating him you need to give the complete
details of what you have on him and what you have done so far to find
him.
I don't know if I can help but I will try if you give me a little more
to go on.
joseph
