I am in the process of getting my DNA test via a brother. I notice alot of discussion regarding our rainbow spectrum. Most of us being from the Central Mexican provinces will be most affected by the Rainbow spectrum. The silver cities, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes and Jalisco were more predominately Espanol because the Indigenous population was less settled in those areas and thus less present and those that were succumbed to the European illness and savagery of how that part of our bloodline mistreated the labor of that part of the bloodline. I also have the dark to white spectrum in my family, the Rubio's form Los Altos married las morenas from Durango, when grandpa from his flight from Teocaltiche married a second wife, because tragically his first died via the various plaques that affected Mexico during this turbulent time.
Spainards are not all blond and blue eyed and only a small minority are tall, from the Extremadura area region, where the conquistadors are from. Spain is at the cross roads of Europe so generally northern Spain is a mixture of Galicians, Welsh, Basque, Catalans who whose language is closely related to the Provencal for the French. Southern Spain is Jewish and Arab historcially until many of us were kicked-out in 1492. Race and culture are a state is constant change. Mexico has had 550 years to get over it's castas and further stir the pot. Then after many of clung so hard to marrying from within we still had change and have the recessive gene in us popping back out when our kids marry those fair ones. We got to love them all and boy my dark grandaughters are as middle eastern looking as you can get and beautiful, but so is the little white "Viking." Let me tell you we traveled all but region in Spain and those southern belles and boys
are the tallest, darker and most striking good looking people. In northern Spain (where one maternal g-grandfather was from)everybody is short, top heavy, fair but plain, just like papa Estevan. Seville was cool, you would see familes that looked like the rainbow coaltion.
I have a recipe for lamb based birria from my family from Los Altos and it is the "bomb"! I will post soon. Sylvia Rodriguez Robles MPA 909-783-2571 |
