No, I don't know any
of the Macias or Ramirez families. But these 2 last names are very
predominate in the history of Jerez.
Alberto.
Al; Thank you for your post about Jerez,
Zacatecas. My grandparents are from there and I didn't know that it was
so close to Jalisco. Do you have a contact with a Macias family member
in Jerez ? I am a descendant of Francisco Macias and Leonarda Ramirez,
of Jerez, Zacatecas.
Sincerely,
Jose Luis Macias

Subject: RE: [ranchos] wrong Las
Animas, sorry
When we visited Jerez, Zacatecas, about 10 years ago, I noticed
people would come in bus loads from Santa Maria de los Angeles,
Jalisco, to Jerez to do their shopping on Saturdays. Also, I met an
elderly gentlemen that lived in both Jerez and Santa Maria de los
Angeles.
There may have been families from Santa Maria de los
Angeles that had family ties in Jerez, since Jerez was the largest city in
the area for many years. Who knows?
Regards,
Alberto Duarte Prieto.
