New Members/Old Members/Ranchos2

welcome to the New Members. . .just as a word.

I have little control over the genealogies of the group other than trusting in the integrity of the membership. That is the reason I insist on keeping the genealogies in the non-public "files" area or if your work is on a webpage in the non-public "links" area of the group. I would discourage you from sending in your work as attachments to the whole group as was recently the case. . .to do so is done at your own risk since the archives are public.

Also for the sake of privacy I'd encourage you all to begin with your grandparents (if they have deceased) and go back from them.

Also I've noticed that we have 71 members but only 60 members of the Ranchos2 group.

so that means that 11 of you can't access the Ranchos2 "files" area. Try this:

go to the ranchos "links" area.
go to the link called "Ranchos2"
click on it and see if it takes you to a link for the Ranchos2 files area
if it doesn't send an email to makas@... asking me whazzup

ps: for new members: if you can't access any of the files, links, photos etc. you probably need a YahooID and password. See the following for detailed instructions on how to get these:

==========================

go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/

up in the top right click on "Register"

fill out the form (FREE) carefully writing down whatever ID and
password you choose (This part is critical!!!)

put the paper you wrote down your ID and Password in a safe place (don't
do like me and have to go hunting for those little scattered pieces of
paper I have with various and sundry passwords and id's)

After you've done this you'll have a Free Yahoo email address and account.

For ID I sometimes use my first name and zip code. You decide whatever is
easy for you to remember.

After you do this click "Submit this form" and you should be signed up
for full access.

NOTE: if you don't want to be getting advertising email from Yahoo
uncheck any boxes at the bottom before submitting the form.

I think this is all if I've forgotten let me know and we'll go over it a
little deeper.
