I so much wish I lived close to Bancroft Library. Gloria Delgado sent me 
a scan of a map of Jalisco she found at Bancroft. You might want to 
check things out there as they have wonderful resources for the Mexican 
Genealogist.

if i could lend one piece of advice that will serve you well in years to 
come: Collect as much oral history as you can!!!
