Never mind, Steven.  I see how they both lead to Santo Toribio's parents.  I have the first couple in my database, and many of their descendants, but not the parents.

    I believe that I might have some info regarding the second couple.  As you probably predicted, I have also been researching Santo Toribio, Santa Ana, and wondered whether or when I would find a link being that my Romos, and Gonzales (both of Santo Toribio's surnames) came from Santa Ana?   

    Can I get more information regarding Atanacio Munoz & Vicenta Ramirez.  I have many Munoz, Perez & Franco.  Of those highlighted, who are their offspring?  Do you have this information?  How do they link to Santo Toribio?

I am currently researching the ancestry of one of many alteño saints, Santo Toribio Romo, who was born on 16 April 1900, in Santa Ana, Jalostotitlan.  His parents were Patricio Romo and Juana Gonzalez, who were married in Jalos on 3 June 1885.

 

I have run into a few dead ends in two of Santo Toribio's ancestral lines.  It's not that the records are not available, I just don't have them in my indefinite collection of films at my local family history center. 

 

My hope is that my Ranchos cousins from Los Altos can help me out.  So this goes out to Irma Gomez Lucero, Maria E. Sanchez de Cortez, Felipe Hermosillo, John Gonzalez, Maria Elena Gutierrez-Uhlenburg, and new member, Connie Dominguez.

 

Can anyone out there please search their microfilms and get the following records for me please.

 

My first request is for the baptism records of Atanacio Muñoz and Vicenta Ramirez.  I have not yet identified their parents, and there is no mention of their marriage record in the IGI.  They did however have 5 children, whose records I'm hoping will mention their grandparents names.

Any one of the above baptisms should yield the information I'm looking for.  The same holds true for other ancestors of Santo Toribio Romo.  These are José María González and María Merced Gutiérrez.

Either the marriage of José María González and María Merced Gutiérrez, or their two children will reveal the identity of the parents José María González and María Merced Gutiérrez.

 

I appreciate any help the Ranchos members can give me.  My plan is to soon write up an article and genealogical history of Santo Toribio Romo.  All help is welcome.
