The bulletin board would be in lieu of this one.  If we wanted ad 
revenue at least, we would have to get a fair amount of traffic on 
the board and I don't think that the database alone would generate 
that.

Plus most bulletin board software allows more flexibility as far as 
what sort of notifications you get (i.e. limited to certain topics) 
and to view messages on the same basis, to show only unread messages, 
etc.
