Hello Joseph, good to hear from you. It is getting hot here in the Los Angeles area also.

The results are from one ancient ancestor either on the male Ydna side or the female Mtdna side. With the male side ydna, the most recent common ancestor can be determined with someone else with probabilities.
Ydna and mtdna are accurate tests. The type of testing that determines racial percentages is here:  http://www.ancestrybydna.com/
This type of test can be unreliable based on those who have taken the test thus far. It can predict your majority ancestry but so can someone else to some degree. This test doesn't do well at predicting minority ancestry. Check out this rootsweb site
and type in ancestrybydna or dna print to learn what others think about the test.
Email me anytime.

Saludos,
Gary

Okay I've got some renewed interest in my Ranchos group for DNA testing. Can you answer the below question and I'll forward the answer to the group.

I would love to see how others did thier dna tests. I feel cheated as
a female that I can only do the mtdna (female)line. I ordered mine
through Gary Felix's site. My husband ordered his from another even
though it's the same lab.. he does not have ancestors from Mexico. My
test kit arrived in 10 days, my husbands took 6 weeks to arrive. I'm
waiting for my results now and expect them by the end of June. I also
like how the Mexico site will hold our results for 25 years and will
notify us if there is a match with someone.

I don't fully understand how they analize the results but expect to
find African, Espanol and Indio blood lines if my research records are
correct. I'm hoping they break it down in percentages, Joseph, do you
know how it's done?
