Has anyone traced the Ulloa family in Nochistlan back to the early 1600s?
According to Clotilde Evelia Quiarte in her book on Nochistlan, Gaspar de
Casareal y Ulloa was a founder of Nochistlan. Does anyone have Gaspar's
descendants?
I am interested because I have my grandmother Ulloa's ancestor back to
Sebastian de Ulloa born about 1704 and can't get beyond this. Perhaps
someone has done Gaspar downwards and I can use the data to link up.
Sincerely,
Charles Clark

Hi Natalie.
I have been trying to access news from Los Altos, Jal., notably in the
Arandas-Jesus Maria regions, also, but I haven't had any luck as of yet.
I have only found Catholic church publications.
Please let me know, if you're able, if you happen on any of these regional
publications.
Thanks,
Armando Lopez V.

Does anyone know of the existence of archives of newspapers in
Zacatecas for years 1880-1920? It would be interesting to read about
the contemporary news of that time period.
Thanks to all for sharing your ideas and expertise - this is always a
great place for learning.
Natalie

I'd suggest emailing the University of Guadalajara closest to your
target area and asking them for which time period they have newspapers
in their archives. Then you'd have to travel there to see them if they
have what you need.
