> In
preparation for my trip to Salt Lake City and while scouring the family
history website I find that for my area of research, Nochistlan, Zacatecas,
Mexico there is no extracted data to be found before 1875.
Don't you mean AFTER 1875 there is no data
available.
Before 1875 there is a lot of data available --
more than for any other area I've searched. You do need to work with the
films too, however. I have all the marriage films on permanent loan, but I
only have a few of the christening records for right at the turn of the 19th
century.
It is true, however, that there are no extracted
records after the late 1870's or 1880's. I assume that it was for privacy
reasons that they did not extract them as the extraction program began at least
20 years ago and 110 years before that would be about 1875.
However, they did microfilm the records and the
microfilms are available. You just have to scroll through each record to
find the one you are looking for. It is very tedious.
