Introduction: Campos/Alvarez Family

okay all you Martin del Campo's out there. . .is this another cousin or a branch you all didn't know about? Do you need to do more research before you tie in???

I'm confident you all can do it. . .lets try to bring this Campos back into the family after all these couple of hundred of years. I have visions of a couple of hundred years ago one of the Martin del Campo primos moving from one part of Los Altos to another and losing track of the main trunk of the family and then getting permanently separated until that is many many years later Carol Lester does extensive research and joins Ranchos and suddenly the different branches find one another and the trunk is made stronger by uniting again. Es como un sueno. . .

Hello to everyone. My name is Carol Lester. I began researching my family back in 1997. I found researching my American family challenging, yet also found an abundance of people and paper trails . It was when I began researching my Spanish roots that I began to hit brick walls. I soon found there was neither people nor paper trails to come by very easily. And while I have accomplished much, I still have much to accomplish. It is my hope that others will benefit from this accumulated research and will help me add to it.

The Campos/Alvarez families are a very large family. I have traced these families back to the 1700th century in the areas of Zacatecas, and Jalisco. It seems through 400 years of research, these people remain in close approximation to where their families have always lived. I found that both interesting and admirable, and only seemed to strengthen my belief of their close family ties. It has also seemed to prove to me that the stories of keeping the bloodlines pure by intermarriages was also true. It has been told to me the Campos family can trace its origins back to Spain. The revolutions brought the Spaniards across the oceans and into Mexico only to steal and plunder the Mexican people of their land, wealth, and heritage. My father begins our American Campos family branch.

The associated surnames of these families are many, yet familiar and repetitive. What I offer here is only my own small portion of a very large puzzle that I have been able to discover. My hope is other kin will see this and add their own research to mine. As I do my research, I am finding more and more that all families truly originated from ONE..and as God intended.

Feel free to use any of the information that is here.

Carol Lester (NanaCarolL@...)
