Universidades en Jalisco: was - Ameca problem

have you contacted the University of Guadalajara at Colotlan History Department with your question? That is what I would do. by the way if you get a contact I have questions along other lines as well, but you first. 8^)

here is their website:

http://www.cunorte.udg.mx/

make sure to look at: "Publicaciones" for a lot of books and some available online

thanks,

joseph

ps:

for a campus in the Los Altos region: http://www.cualtos.udg.mx/
El Centro Universitario de la Ciénega: http://148.202.148.12/
Ciudad Guzman Campus: http://www.cusur.udg.mx/portal/
SouthWestern part of Jalisco: http://www.cucsur.udg.mx/
Puerto Vallarta but also for Ameca: http://vallarta.cuc.udg.mx/

[reason i said also for Ameca is that this URL has the same name for both Ameca and Puerto Vallarta: http://www.cunorte.udg.mx/NuestroCampus/RedUniversitaria/reduniv.html]

Became stuck looking for birth record of Juan Florencio Villegas who,
according to his 1759 marriage record, was born in Ameca. It was always my
assumption that meant Ameca, Jalisco since he was married in Colotlan
Jalisco. However, I now notice records of Ameca, Edo and there is always
Amecameca. How can I find out where immigrants to Colotlan usually came
from in the early 1700's? Possibly the State of Mexico? Thanks. Evie
