Hello Alberto,

My great grandmother, Margarita Pinedo, was from El Salto.  
I've always assumed this "El Salto" is a place located a few miles 
northeast of Colotán, Jalisco, but on the state of Zacatecas, near 
Villanueva.

The reason why I think my "El Salto" is located in Zacatecas and not 
to be confused with "El Salto, Jalisco", which is Southeast of 
Guadalajara, is because my great Grandfather was from Colotlán, which 
is relatively close.  Makes sense, doesn't it?
