Ranchos Neighbors

Hello Sally,

Being a Ranchos member I thought I would chime in. We are not related but we are neighbors. I live in San Jose which is not very far from Hollister. Maybe we can meet up one of these days and share research tips or just get to know each other.

You won't find my data on-line yet as I seriously began my research this last March on my trip to Salt Lake. In addition to my direct line research I am also doing a lot of lateral research. A couple of weeks ago I asked the group about lateral research which is what I have been doing for these last few months. It took me a while to figure out why that was so important to me and not so important to most of those in the group.

Most people in Ranchos were not born in Mexico as I was. Mostly they are descendants of Mexico but don't know many of their relations. I was born in Mexico and I do know many many living family members, the trouble is that I don't quite know how we are related, I just keep hearing that this is a relative and this is a family member but I can't make the direct connection. My desire is not only to make the connection with those who came before us but with those who are amongst the living. I also belong to a group called Los Caxcanes de Zacatecas or Club Zacatecano. Many of these members actually live in Hollister and surrounding towns and cities including San Jose where I have lived since I was 2½.

I would love to meet up with you if you ever have the chance or the desire to do so.

Sinceramente,

Alicia Avelar de Carrillo

Hello Arturo,

I looked up your file and perhaps some day we will make a connection.
My first Nava (gtgrandmother) was born in Juanchorrey Zac. Her father
and grandfather were all married in Juanchorrey Zac. The next 3
generations which takes me to about 1710 were from Monte Escovedo.
As for my Gonzales, Carlos and De La Torre they were from
Tepetongo,Jerez and Juanchorrey.

Regards
Sally
