Mary,

I'd say that traveling by bus is OK, as bus drivers know the roads
very well.  Of course this isn't a surprise visit, right?  It might be
worth buying one of those cheap cellular phones to keep in touch with
your contacts. 

San Felipe is located in the northern part of Guanajuato.  To get an
