Hello All,
I just got back, from the Conference, that
was held in Salt Lake City,
today at the Family History Library.
The only material, that they gave out was a
CD called “Latin American Resource” disc. It is the same disc that
they have given out for the past two conferences. Though, they are going to
be, redoing the disc later on this year. For, those of you who want a copy, I
can burn a copy of the disc, and send it to you. Also, for those who requested
a copy, of my Resource disc, there is a copy of the “Latin American”
Disc on it. Also, they did not give out, any syllabuses. Some classes had
handouts, but the majority didn’t.
There is a new Mexico research outline, out. Some of
you have seen the new colored research outline. The first, for Mexico barely
arrived, yesterday. They weren’t releasing them, to the public today.
Another thing that I learned today. Is
that if you have a parish marriage record, that does not state the parents, of
the bride and groom. Check the marriage information films, to see if the
marriage investigation is recorded. Because, before today I thought that only
the marriages, that required dispensations, where in the “Informacion
matrimoniales” records. But what I learned, is that for every marriage
that the Catholic Church performs, the Priest performs an investigation. And
the results, of the investigation, may be recorded the “Informacion
Matrimoniales.”
Professor Ryskamp, gave a good class
finding records, when there are not any parish records. If you have listened,
to the interview, that Joseph did with George, and the 2 classes, that Joseph
recorded, from the National Archives seminar. They cover pratically, every
thing that George covered, today.
Thanks,
Jonathan
