Re: I get the database point. . .maybe

You guys are too quick for me! Yes, Joseph that is the point of the
database--to have a single source of all the info and not have to
have it repeated in several different files. Yes, a lookup means
getting a scanned image of a document for another member provided
they give you the film number, date and full names. I think that we
multiply the number of films we all have access to at one time by
helping one another out to further our research. I don't get to my
FHC often either, but if I can help anyone I would be happy to do so.

As Arturo points out, the database has the advantage of allowing you
to import and export into it.

You've been reminding us about how we're running out of space in the
files area, so I thought the database would help with that problem.
Or does the data we put into the databases add to the amount of space
alotted for files? Even if it does, I would imagine that doing away
with redundancy would help a little.

Thanks Arturo for your great suggestions and help with Joseph's
files. I will make a change to allow all members edit access.

Maria

p.s. We have one column left. I was thinking the years covered would
be a good use for that column. Thoughts?
