RE: [ranchos] Toribio Romo -- Mexico's Ghostly Benefactor of Illegal Aliens!

Don't assume anything.

Approximately, 14 years ago when I started my
genealogy research, I got a long list of all those
with the last name of Duarte from our local LDS
library, that dated back to 1496, from the state of
Zacatecas.  I assumed that I was not related to those
Duartes that were not from Jerez (that's where my
grandfather was born).  After about 10 years of
researching, I proved myself wrong, dead wrong---I
found out that I was related to over half of the early
Duartes from Zacatecas, and many of them were from
various different towns and ranches, other than Jerez!


This was not the first time that I assumed the I was
not related to an individual with the same last name
(Prieto), but later again, I proved myself wrong.
