Wow, you guys are great.
thanks for the support on this. I guess we need to open the floor up to
nominations for at least two other members of the committee. I've
already nominated Kitty Cortez and we need at least 2 more nominations
(no ties). Just because someone is nominated doesn't mean that person
has to accept the nomination. Sounded to me like Kitty accepted the
nomination. Once we get those nominated all lined up I think we should
have a "vote" and elect them into the committee. I can set this up
through the Poll area. Seems like we shouldn't be too concerned with a
majority at first since it is hard to get folks from Ranchos to
vote/poll on things. But the past polls have indicated that around 20
people vote depending on the subject. So what would be a good amount of
votes to be elected into the committee? How about 10 votes? the
committee could then change this later. Each person voting/polling
would be able to vote for more than one choice.
Anyone else think of some folks on the list that you would like to
nominate?
Once we get at least 3 in the committee they can have an internal
election for the treasurer and then we can send our contributions to
the treasurer. The committee would take "suggestions" from the group,
but would make the final decision on how the funds are to be
distributed. Discussion from the group can take place on the group but
again the committee would then take that discussion private and make
the final decision. Later after the committee is formed the committee
can decide to change these rules. If needed a private Yahoo group could
be created to archive the Internal Discussion of the committee. . .I
can help or create this when the time comes.
And yes Kitty's thoughts about asking the members to give $1 is exactly
as I was thinking. I thought if we all gave $1 per year then we could
be in a position to send a $100 stipend to members of the group that
might find themselves in need Or for purposes to advance the purposes
of the Ranchos group.
And another thing if its not obvious. I'm not going to be part of the
committee. I'll definitely play my part in "suggesting" uses but I
won't have anything to do with the holding or distribution of the
funds.
Also this contribution thing is completely optional and no one should
feel pressured into participating. If I even get the "sense" that there
is discontent because certain ones feel that certain other ones are not
contributing well I'll be the first to "suggest" to the committee that
this whole thing be disolved.
