I have read lots, of messages about oral histories, here on Ranchos.
I just wanted to say, record those histories. So that they are not
lost, to the future generations.
I say this, because recently I took, on some new clients, whose
ancestry is about 80% comanche indians. With a few ancestors, who
where Mexican or spanish captives, that were captured and raised by
the comanches, during the early 1800's. All that they have to work
with, is oral histories. The comanches did not have a written
language, until they were bought, into the reservations. And when a
person dies, they don't speak the person's name again.
So, like I said. Record your oral histories, so that you posterity,
can know them, and can get to know you.
