Re: [ranchos] successful trip

Marge:  You would have loved it, especially if you love people or are a people watcher.  So many beautiful faces; such a variety.

I agree Isais is a beautiful name.  This particular person was Elias Isais. He married Maria Guadalupe Romero a daughter of Maria Guadalupe Salinas and Marcelino Romero De Esnaurrizar. I suspect this family  lived in San Luis Potosi, SLP.

Enrique has a fabulous photo of the first De Esnaurrizar on the tree.  I saw the original, in fact. Enrique pulled it out of a little velvet covered box.  It is a profile carved out of wax. It was beautiful with the high collar and the curling sideburn.  This gentleman was quite important and a political figure in San Luis Potosi.   Feliz Navidad!   Mary

Heavens! What a fascinating narrative...wish I could have gone with
you!  I have Saldivar and de Llamas and Chavez blood from Jerez,
Zacatecas.  Not your neck of the woods at all.  A member of our family
in the 1700s married into the Isais family, which I think is a
beautiful name.  Merry Christmas from Marge V.:)
