Yes, Joseph, it's something to celebrate----our ancient RNA/DNA calling to
us to find each other. Sure, I'd make capirotada, but I prefer posole to
menudo since I don't like tripa---I prefer pork shoulder. I could skip the
lengua and cabeza (eeww---mad cow disease).
We are in Las Vegas, and at the first opportunity we found a good Mexican
restaurant, Diego's at the MGM. It was great--a guy made fresh guacamole at
our table, and the food was so good. I had the green chile tamales (made
from fresh corn) a Tesoro margarita (smooooth), chiles rellenos; my husband
had tacos al carbon (garlic-lime marinated skirt steak, etc on a soft corn
tortilla); three flavors of flan and coffee for dessert-----are you
drooling, Joseph?
I think after a few margaritas we could all do a passable Jarabe Tapatio.
Emilie

well you know how I am. So when you all have sorted things out a bit
more please give us a brief overview of who is related to who and how.
Shall we get go ahead and reserve the Mariachi's? Where is the
fiesta/baile going to be? You know we should not take it lightly when
various branches of a family have somehow lost each other for 100's of
years and suddenly now when no one remembers anyone in the other branch,
the branches find each other. its time to rejoice and be happy. Its like
finding a needle in a hay stack. . .it took two or more parties doing
very very hard and tedious genealogical research to make a very distant
connection and discover that the same blood the same DNA the same
familia is "common."
is someone going to make capidotada (Emilie)? or do we have to wait
until lent? how about some menudo. . .its almost New Years anyway we
don't only have it for New Years, we've gotten away from that and have
it whenever someone wants to make it. . .which normally turns out to be
at New Years. . .go figure! oh and can someone make some tacos de lengua
and do some cabeza's also. . .ohhhh, I love cabeza! Who knows how to
dance el "Jarabe Tapetio?" Let's get a few piñatas (well one would be
enough. . .we don't want to go overboard do we???) and fall to the
ground like children scrambling for the dulces.
