Several members of the LDS church have shared some of the
same experiences with me while I'm at the FHC doing my own research. They
believe that it is their job to bring their ancestors to their church.
Maybe this influences their visions, dreams...
I do not dream about ancestors that I have not met,
nor do they contact me. Being a chicken, I'm thankful.
My passion for finding out about my ancestors I
believe comes from my parents and relatives talking about their ancestors:
funny stories, exploits, etc.
My abuelito would also tell my older primo
Felipe to grab a pen and a notebook and jot down info. about his parents,
grandparents, etc., Felipe whom I haven't been in touch with for over
15 yrs., just put together a little velobound booklet on his parent's
ancestors. Maybe he's working on both of us in a very subtle
way...
I would sit on my abuelito's lap too like Joseph, but I
would bite my lito's nose. :) This was
something only I got away with it too. My abuelito Nando's
influence as well as wanting to see if my dad's outrageous stories
were true or it.

my family, I was at the FHC library and a member of the LDS Church was helping
me get started. I had already made several attempts at research by
myself but could never get good results.....needless to say, I was getting
VERY frustrated! In fact, I was ready to give up! Then I
started having dreams about my ancestors and I did not even know them~~!!
You can imagine how that felt! When I told my friend at the FHC
library about my dreams she looked at me in (what I thought) was a strange
way......I asked her what was wrong and she said "nothing"...... Later, as I was
preparing to leave, she took me aside and explained to me that "she did not know
if I would understand what she was going to tell me, but that she would tell me
anyway." This statement must have come because I told her that my dreams
sometimes scared me and I did not understand why I was dreaming about
people I did not even know......and this happened several times.....not just
once or twice. She went on to tell me that "our ancestors choose someone
in the family to continue doing the search.....and that was probably what was
happening to me!" WOW! Was I shocked!
After giving it some thought, it made sense! I am the only one in my
family who is interested in genealogy and has done extensive research......in
other words, I am the only obsessed one! :-) Out of the 21 or
so grandchildren of my grandparents, I am the only one who does genealogy.
Then it all made sense to me.....the reason for my "obsession".... the reason
why "sometimes information just falls into my lap" etc, etc. etc.
After reading "Psychic Roots" and "More Psychic Roots" it all made complete
sense to me and I now look forward to these dreams......my private visits with
my ancestors........

sort or a chip I mean, for me is an urge that started early in life, I try to
keep memories of names in my mothers chat over dinners, mostly when we had no
tv, I long for those moments... than tater after her pass of the way I dream a
lot about her very vividly, and since I started this genealogy formaly those
dreams almos stop, nowadays I dream about her now and then... thanks to my
parents use of the oral tradition I feel that my relatives I never met are part
of the family... that's for me Emilie how it is. Bye
