Joseph,
I don't know if you've had a reply yet regarding the request
for a translator. I can give the translation a try and if I can't get
it just right I can find someone to assist me.
We just returned from Tlachichila and Nochistlan Zacatecas.I
have lots of information to share with the group.
Please let me know either way.
Best Regards, Alicia A Carrillo

Hey,
is there anyone out there up to a translation request? I send out the
below email to all prospective members. Lately I've found the need to
have the same email in Spanish but I don't feel up to the challenge. .
.well of course I could do it and make it so it sounds like a 3rd
grader did it, but I'd like it to read right. Anyway this letter is an
example and not written in stone (this means if you have suggestions
for a completely new letter to send out sounds good to me, but at the
minimum keep the 2 requirements to be part of the group part of your
version. . .I won't budge on this part!).
thanks,
joseph

Hello,
I'm glad you are interested in joining the Ranchos group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rancho!
s/. We are a small but dedicated group of serious researchers. Here
is the description of the group from our home page:
"This group is for those
actively searching for their Mexican Genealogy Roots. El objetivo de
este grupo cibernético es para poner en contacto genealogistas serios
que tienen raíces en Jalisco, Zacatecas y Aguascalientes, y así,
facilitar las investigaciónes genealógicas de los miembros. The intent
but never the requirement is to stay focused on the Ranchos of Jalisco,
Zacatecas and Aguascalientes. If you are a serious researcher or want
to be a serious researcher this group is for you. If you have no
intention of doing your own research I would suggest the multitude of
message boards available at Rootsweb. Please scan through the message
archive, which is open to the general public, to get an idea of what is
meant by doing your own research.
Note: If you decide to join this group it will be expected that as soo!
n as you are comfortable you will introduce yourself describing what
surnames you are researching in what areas during which time periods.
Also you will be expected to send in your Genealogy line from the
Jalisco, Zacatecas and Aguascalientes areas so that we can try to make
some connections with one another. These files or links to your
Genealogy will be kept in Non-Public areas of the group."
This group is also open to those earnestly desiring to become serious
researchers. To join the group I need for you to acknowledge your
willingness to comply with the two simple requirements:
1) You have done or are willing to do your own research. [This group is
only for those that do their own work. What I'm saying is that some
only look for others that have done all the hard work and then
contribute nothing to it. There are plenty of message boards on
Rootsweb that offer opportunities like this].
2) You are willing to send me your genealogical line so I ca! n put it
in the "non-public" files section of the group. The strength of this
group is the unity within the members. Several of us have found that we
are related. I have found 2 sixth cousins and another 2 cousins that is
yet to be determined as to the exact relationship. Many others have
found relatives in the group only by tying into their genealogies. We
find connections and share our work and help one another.
If you have any reservations about the above requirements why not take
some time and think about it. In the meantime please look at the groups
home page and look at the message archives which are open to the public.
Joseph Puentes

ps: I need a written reply in an email in the
affirmative with regards to the two requirements in order for me to
subscribe you.
