Yes, I definitely would
like to keep our genealogies private. I would hate to see our hard work
show up in someone's published work without our permission &
knowledge. We've all worked too hard to see it all go public.
How does My Family.com
work? Although I like the keeping our genealogies in Ranchos 1 and all
other info in Ranchos 2 idea better.
My ever-humble opinion. Since when has
a Jaliciense ever been humble?

Your idea sounds quite good. I really don't think it would be too
much of a hassle to have to register to the other site. We should keep
our private genealogies right here in Ranchos (1) and put other files and
messages in Ranchos2. But having the other site sounds like a perfectly
good idea.
