Dear Ranchos group:
Well, here it is! In order to keep Joseph from going postal on us, and to wish everyone out there Happy Holidays, I have uploaded the first 9 generations of my family tree, into the files section of the Newsgroup. I think that should be enough for now. If there is a particular interest, focus, or question about any specific line, then I'll post them as the occasion arises.
Some may notice a nice healthy mix of different, and sometimes unique, surnames from places all over Los Altos de Jalisco (Arandas, Atotonilco el Alto, Ayo el Chico, Tepatitlán, San Miguel el Alto, Zapotlanejo, San Juan de los Lagos, Jalostotitlán, Lagos de Moreno, Teocaltiche, etc.), Aguascalientes, Nochistlán (Zac.), Guanajuato, and Michoacán. That's why, for better or for worse, I've had to diversify my research to cover a wide area.
I think it may be for the better, because that way I gain experience and knowledge researching in so many different places. I am familiar with the conditions of the different archives, how complete each one is, and whether or not the IGI is complete or updated regarding the parrochial arvhives.
My information represents about ten years worth of research. But, no matter how diligently any of us might research, we still have those nagging dead-ends. I have some I have not been able to break through, no matter how hard I've tried.
That's it for now. Hope everyone's enjoying this my favorite time of the year. ¡Hay nos vemos!
Sincerely,
Steven Francisco Hernández-López
