thanks for the reply. I just want to separate the ones that are willing
and unable from those that have no intention of contributing. Of course
I understand your situation. But your situation brings up a leaning
opportunity for others (me included). Would you mind giving us a few
sentences on how you obtained your fathers petition papers? Also do you
or anyone else in the group know how to get border crossing info?

the only reason I have is that I have not been able to find out where
my father was born, or when -- other than Mexico by the Texas border.
Recently, I obtained a copy of his petition papers to become a U.S.
Naturalized Citizen. I also now have some names of his brothers and
sisters (but no birth dates or places).
I am in the
process of using Family Tree Maker to enter this newly acquired info,
but as I mentioned, all I have is names. Is that sufficient?
