Hello Ranchos group, For many years I have been stuck at a impassable dead end. I pray that someone out there could possibly help me out. It all began when I discovered the marriage record of two of my ancestors. Joseph Miguel Zaldivar (Saldivar) married María de los Dolores Jáuregui, in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, on 7 April 1777. The marriage document said that Joseph Miguel Saldivar was "hijo legítimo de Xavier Saldivar y de María Josepha González." Ma. de los Dolores Jáuregui was "hija legítima de Joseph Francisco de Jáuregui y de María Josepha Jiménez." My Jáuregui line is well documented, and I have had no major problems there. The problem is with Xavier Saldivar and María Josepha González. I have found a few baptisms of their children in Jalostotitlán: Isidro Bonifacio Saldivar, bap. 28 May 1752; Segundo Pastor Saldivar, bap. 21 April 1754; María de los Dolores Saldivar, bap. 09 March 1760; and Bernardino Sinesio Saldivar, bap. 07 June 1761. But no marriage. I have seen Xavier Saldivar (Zaldivar) mentioned in other records as Francisco Xavier Saldivar. The baptisms mentioned above do not mention who the abuelos were, nor do they provide any kind of clue. And I have searched EVERYWHERE for his marriage with Ma. Josepha González. I figure they were married sometime before 1752, probably in Jalos or in Nochistlán, Zacatecas. I am beginning to get obsessed over them. Has anybody out there seen them??? If anybody has microfilm from Nochistlán, or nearby ranchos, please let me know if they appear there. I would be eternally grateful for any help. Cordially, Steven F. Hernández. |
