Info I received from our genealogy friends. A. Garza ============================================ 18 March 2003 To All Who Would Help Preserve Hispanic History in the New World You are hereby informed that a 2nd Edition of WITH ALL ARMS, the monumental work of genealogical and historical research by the late Carl L. Duaine, is in the process of preparation. This project comes sixteen years after the first appearance of the book, now that the last of the 2,500 original copies are selling for $150.00 a copy...when they can be found. The second edition will be done by Laurence Alan Duaine, son of the author, dba Las Animas Press, and to the best of his ability and understanding of his father's effort, a worthy successor to that heroic job. This will be a printing run of at least 3,000, including improved maps and illustrations. A primary aim will be to make the book available at a much lower price and thus to a wider audience, now that it has achieved the recognition that it owns among those interested in Hispanic ancestors and the stirring history of their accomplishments. The crux of this notice is to alert you to this opportunity to contribute whatever additional light we can shed on the lives we celebrate in these pages. In addition to a more extensive index, there will be an addendum to the book, containing such new research information as we are certain exists among those who have read and reflected upon the previous work by Duaine. I do hereby solicit your time and effort: send in such addition, amendment or correction, as "Viejo" Duaine asked you to do, as he wrapped up his life with this great work. Please send you input (before the end of May 2003) to: Las Animas Press - c/o Alan Duaine 4909 Branscomb Drive Corpus Christi, TX 78411 Sincerely, S/ Laurence Alan Duaine (361) 854-8089 e-mail: aduaine@... |
