Zacatecas,
I guess they don't know where in Zacatecas right? Do they remember
anything at all like if it was close to Jalisco or Northern Zacatecas or
close to Durango or possible close to the capital, Zacatecas, Zacatecas?
Ask again and see if they remember anything else. Sometime when you
interview someone they will not remember anything when asked a direct
question so maybe the story approach would work. Maybe asking then stuff
like tell me about what Bis Abuelita Tomasita did in Mexico. Get them
going on some story about her life and maybe the story they are telling
will trigger some tidbit about location. Or maybe get them going on some
story about how Abuela Porfiria did this or that. Ask if its okay to
tape the conversation so you can concentrate on just have a conversation
instead of writing everything down real fast. Try to get your mom and
serveral of the aunts together so they can brainstorm together.

death certificate? Do you know where they were married? do you have a
marriage certificate? Do you have addresses where they lived in the US?
Do you know where they lived in 1910 - 1920 - 1930? Check the census
records and see if you can find them. How about immigration records and
SS records? Did they have SS numbers?
Son of Desiderio Montes d.o.b.? d.o.d.?

I have interviewed my mother and aunts all they remember was they
called Tomasita "Ama Tomasita". They aren't even sure if Rosendo was
born in Brownsville or in Mx. But they do know he was raised in
Brownsville,Tx.
check the census . . .then his parents were in the US also. See if you
can find them as a unit on the census records.

ps: Anybody else have any ideas for Janie to persue in doing her
Genealogy? I'm sure I've overlooked some ideas.
About a 2 yrs ago I also found this information when I asked my mom
and aunts if Tomasita Villegas went by the name of Prudenciana. They
didn't know and or have any idea. Which is why I don't know if the
following person is them or not.
Since then I have been at a stand still.
