Hola: ReIntroduction---Introduce Yourself!

Hola,

Yo me llamo Joseph Puentes. . .this group is for the serious 
genealogical study of the Ranchos of Jalisco and Zacatecas. I understand 
that we might all be at different levels of experience, but I hope we 
all strive to be better in our knowledge and skills at using the 
resources available to us in 2003 for the study of our Mexican Roots. I 
said all that only to say that i hope that if any of you are doing 
Genealogy by only trying to find others that have done the work and 
incorporate it into your genealogy. . .well I hope you all take it a 
step further and start doing some of your own research. Nothing wrong 
with finding others who have done a lot of work and then somehow 
crossing their path or tieing in but at the same time take that info and 
work it a little more. There are always things that need to be 
researched. I wish I had a team of 20 people that I could direct in the 
study of my personal genealogy. I believe I could keep them busy if 
money was no object.
Several people have joined in the last few days and if you have a chance 
please introduce yourselves.
I think we would all appreciate an introduction that includes who your 
are and what surnames your are researching in what specific areas. We 
can compare information and try to make some connections. And if we 
can't make connections maybe we can keep an eye out for one another if 
we happen to see certain surnames or individuals as we do our own study.
You'll find a lot of files in the files section. a picture or two in the 
picture section. and a lot of messages in the message section. o yes and 
Maria Cortez has started a database that hopefully will be expanded as 
time permits.

I'm doing research on these Surnames: Joseph Puentes de Diaz, Aguallo,
Ledesma, Casas, Alvarez, Varela, Gonsalez, Sanchez, Leaños, Marquez, 
Torres, Santa Maria, Lugo,
Espinosa, Romero, Banuelos, Miranda, Muro, Nava, Castañeda y Rivas.

I'm researching these areas--- Jalisco: Colotlan, Santa Maria de Los
Angeles, Rancho de Animas, Salto de Los Romeros, Sauz de Los Marquez,
Ojo de Agua, Sotoles, Huejucar and a few other Ranchos in the Colotlan
jurisdicion (if that is the right word for it). Zacatecas:
Sombrerete, Rancho de Los Negros in the Villanueba district, Coculiten,
Momax, Tlaltenango, Tepechitlan, and Tepetongo.

I guess I really need to clarify what I mean. I have relatives that come
from or I believe come from these areas. I've actaully researched some
and am moving toward the research of the others. With thoroughness being
a strict requirement it might take me years to get to some of these but
you never know. I mentioned them all just in case some of you might
be working in these areas."

Tlaltenango de Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas.

Maria Concepcion Castaneda, they had Jose Vicente Diaz who
met and married Maria Hipolita Caciana Rivas, they had
Jose Tadeo Diaz who met and married Genoveva Leanos, they
had Jorge Diaz who met and married Andrea Torres, they had
Francisco Diaz who met and married Antonia Santa Maria,
they had Virginia Diaz who met and married Julio Puente, they
had Antonio Diaz Puentes who met and married Louisa,
and they had me.

En Espanol:

La mayoría de las generaciones de las cuales voy a hablar residieron en
Santa María de Los �ngeles, Jalisco. Aunque tengo la certeza de que
Justo Puente se mudo de su residencia original en Sombrerete, Zacatecas
para alla.
